We have made it through another rough Indiana winter here at the Fort Wayne Indoor. From October 15th to April 15th the Indoor park flourished with travellers from all over the region. We held multiple contests, jams, and all night skates over the season. All of which were a success. We have made upgrades to the park along the way. Upgrades like a new lobby, a sound system, a concession stand, new ramps and bigger features on the bottom side of the park. We even maganged to build a “crowd funded” mini-ramp that we just finished up within the past 2 weeks.
The season pass members expire on 4.15.15, The season pass program will be deleted in order to make room for our new 24 Hour Code Holder Program, which we are very excited about! This program will allow folks the opportunity to use the facility anytime day or night. The future looks bright for the Fort Wayne Indoor as long as we can make it through this hot summer months when most of our patrons are outside during the warmer temps. All in all the 2014/2015 Winter season was a success, and I think everyone learned something and have a ton of fun at the Indoor!
The 2015/2016 season comes with even more upgrades. As of today you can now Sign Our Waiver Online. This gives us a better grip on who comes to the park and how often they are coming. We plan to upgrade to a computer system and add the internet in the coming year along with the other ideas you see bouncing around on Facebook etc.
Cost Per Year = Over $50,000 (Rent, Electric, Gas, Insurance, Repairs, etc.) This does not include paying anyone to work at the park as we have all volunteered our time and money for this cause.
Income – $35,527 As of March 31, 2015 (Over $15,000 in donations and the rest from entry fee’s and concession stand sales)
Result = $15,000 Short of our goal
Question – What are we going to do?
Answer – We hope the 24HR plan works out for people and allows us to bring in $1,000 – $1,500 per month in the summertime (10-15 participants at $100 per month)
Answer 2 – We have a big fundraiser in the works with a very talented group of local business people who are 100% committed to our vision here at the Fort Wayne Indoor. This “block party” will take place downtown Fort Wayne in the Month of July. It has been coined “Ramps, Rock & Roll” Fort Wayne;s 1st Action Sports and Music Festival. We plan to feature a contest for skateboards, a professional BMX Stunt Demonstration, an auction for some custom painted skateboards, and cruise into the evening with 3 of the areas best local musical talents. More information will be available on this over the next few months.
Answer 3 – Raise the price per session. Beginning 4.16.15 the minimum price per session will be $8 for a 3 hour session ($2.66 per hour) All Sessions over 3 hours will have a $10 price. (4 Hours is $2.50 5 Hours is $2 per hour)
The main thing we want to keep doing at the indoor is keep the doors open. It will be a struggle to keep the bills paid this summer and we need to make more cash during the winter months to make up for the slow summers. We will occasionally offer $5 events, but the park simply cannot survive on a $5 entry fee.
We hop that you all made it out to see or ride the park this winter and we really hope to see the support continue over the summer time. We will continue to work as hard as we can to ensure that the Fort Wayne Indoor is here now, and for many more years to come.
We are open to new ideas and you can call or email us at anytime! 260.238.0398 or TheFortWayneIndoor@gmail.com
Thank You all for your support!
