Scooter Only Session Starts this Saturday!

We at the Fort Wayne Indoor always want to provide you with the best possible experience you can have while visiting the park.  We have noticed an influx of younger kids on Scooters and have decided to work with Harrison Burns to bring you a SCOOTER ONLY Session inside the Indoor Skatepark.  We have found that when people who ride the same type of device ride together, they typically progress and learn much quicker and it tends to create life long friendships.

We appreciate the support from our local community and we hope this will ease up some the excessive amount of scooters during the normal mixed sessions.  We look forward to seeing all the bright new faces inside the regions ONLY Indoor Skatepark!

We could not be more excited to have the world’s best female BMX Rider Hannah Roberts!  Hannah just won back to back world titles the past two weekends all the way over the big pond in Chengdu, China.  Hannah is 16 years old and from Buchanan, Michigan.  She is no stranger to Fort Wayne as she has been down here many times over her amazing BMX life.  Hannah took the title two weeks ago in the world-wide 4 stop Fise series for the 2nd year in a row.  Hannah dominated the women’s class all year-long and was invited to the 1st ever Olympic Sanctioned Worlds the next weekend, and pushed on for a 2nd win in just 2 weeks.

Check out her winning runs from last weekend in the video above.  Hannah gets most of her practice time in at the Kitchen BMX & Skatepark, located in South Bend, Indiana.  She also competes in local contests where she has to compete against grown men and regularly puts them to shame.  Ride the Indoor this Friday Night with Hannah Roberts!

Mission & Purpose:
The MISSION of The Fort Wayne Indoor BMX & Skatepark
The purpose of The Fort Wayne Indoor’s Annual Block Party is to raise funds to support the mission of the Fort Wayne Indoor Bike & Skate Park. The Fort Wayne Indoor Bike & Skate Park (FWI) is a 501c(3) not for profit organization that serves the bike and skate community of Northeast Indiana. The FWI provides the youth of Fort Wayne the opportunity to build a supportive and inclusive local skating and biking community. The FWI supports this community by providing a custom built indoor facility complete with ramps, rails, and trick features designed and built by local skaters and trick riders.
The FWI goes beyond offering a legal, safe, and clean environment for self-expression through free style riding and skating by hosting competitions and riding events that mix skating, bike riding, and music. Rich Hoppe and Dan Butler’s lifelong dedication to the sports that they love has earned them friends across the industry. These friends and connections work at some of the largest manufacturers in the industry and they routinely support the FWI with prizes and gear to promote local competitions and events.
The Fort Wayne Indoor faces a challenge each and every year. A challenge that cannot be avoided. That challenge is warm weather. The target demographic for the FWI is youth. Once the weather warms and skateboarders and bicyclists can move their interests outdoors to ride for free, the regular revenue stream for the FWI dwindles.
The Fort Wayne Indoor’s Annual Block Party seeks to provide an alternative revenue stream for FWI through sponsorships and ticket sales to fund the park through the summer months. We also seek to use The Fort Wayne Indoor’s Annual Block Party to raise awareness of the Fort Wayne Indoors mission and purpose among potential corporate sponsors to help fund the park.
The Fort Wayne Indoor is supporting the youth of Fort Wayne’s skate, bike, and all wheeled sports in our community and we need your help
Thank You for your continued support!

Rich Hoppe & Dan Butler

We want to start this update off with a Huge Thank You to all of you amazing Fort Wayne Indoor Supporters.  We just wrapped up our 3rd season as the area’s ONLY Indoor BMX & Skate facility!

We started out this season with a COMPLETE rebuild.  We literally tore down every single ramp in the building, downsized the park by 4,000 sq ft (now 7,000 sq ft) and ended up with an amazingly fun and cool place to ride.  Huge thanks to Brian Leonard for spearheading and spending countless hours at the park during the rebuild (props to Aiden & Jaise Jordan also for their non-stop help)

The Rebuild…..

The season started out well as we are super dependent upon the weather.  We opened up the 1st week of November and the cash flow helped get us out of last year’s debt for the 1st few months. We reorganized our pricing structure by adding a $10 Yearly Fee to help offset Insurance, Electric, Gas, etc. By the time February hit, so did 70 degrees and of course folks want to be outside enjoying the outdoors.   The remainder of the winter was extremely slow in comparison to the 1st few months.

Rebuild 2016

We rely on a mix of cash flow through-out the year.  This time of the year we ask for your help to ensure that this unique facility of ours stays open for our community.  Because we are a non-for-profit 501(c)3,   all of your donated money can be written off on your taxes for 2018.  We are 100% Volunteer and 100% committed to keeping the doors open, here in Fort Wayne, IN.  We are always working on new ways and efforts to make the park successful.

Please take a few minutes and donate any amount you can afford; every single dollar goes towards a community of amazing individuals.

We want to Thank all of you who made it out to the Indoor during our 3rd year in Fort Wayne.  We started out the year with good times on the newly built course, only to have yet another short winter cut us short on income two years in a row now,  We will push on to raise the monies needed to keep us afloat,  Keep your eyes peeled to our social media and this page for updates regarding summertime fundraisers.  We will open at random when it rains or for special events.

“The 24 Hour Program has allowed me to really step up my skateboarding game enough to where I am competing on a national level”  – Austin Curry 24 Hour Member

The program has been instrumental with folks that work odd hours, or like to fun stuff on cool summer nights.  Fort Wayne Is a regional hub and The Fort Wayne Indoor wants to keep it busy during the off season.
